		<description>That&#039;s a very interesting work around, especially since currently Java 6 is not required for Eclipse itself anyway. (the JDK you use to run Eclipse on is independent from the one with which you run the code you develop with Eclipse)

		<description>I&#039;m using Java6 (the ubuntu package) and the x-server update (8.3) didn&#039;t fix problems with eclipse startup. I made things work by pointing eclipse to java5 VM.</description>
